House of Character, San Lawrenz

San Lawrenz is one of the smallest and most attractive villages in Gozo situated on the western side of the island, an area considered to be one of the greenest parts of the island. The two main villages on the western side San Lawrenz and Gharb are renowned as relatively unspoilt villages which have not been impacted negatively by the new development in Gozo still representing the traditional charm and beauty of Gozo. San Lawrenz has amazing countryside walks around it and is surrounded by open countryside, spectacular cliffs and the blue Mediterranean Sea. It is particularly well known for Dwejra, a Natura 2000 site and currently being reviewed for inclusion as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Dwejra is renowned for its beautiful cliff edge scenery, the famous Fungus Rock, the inland sea and its rich flora and fauna.
